CPI to forge an alliance with Jan Morcha in UP election

Kolkata, Jan 4 (UNI) The Communist Party of India(CPI) would forge an alliance with the newly floated Jan Morcha Party, led by former Prime Minister V P Singh, in the coming UP assembly election.

"The CPI and CPI(M) would forge alliance with the Lok Bhalai Party in Punjab and in Uttaranchal. Both the Left parties would contest in some of the seats in the coming assembly election," party's spokesman Shameem Faizee told newsmen on the sidelines of the three-day national conference which began today.

He also said CPI, CPI(M) and Lok Bhalai party had formed an alliance to contest the election, but ruled out any possibility of alliance with the Congress and the Akali Dal in the coming Punjab election.

He said it was also decided that the CPI would contest with the alliance of Jan Morcha party and the CPI(M) would forge an alliance with the secular party, but later yet to finalise any party still now.

The CPI and the CPI(M), both the Left parties jointly would contest some of the seats in the Uttaranchal election, Mr Faizee added.
