APSRTCEU agitates till govt reopens closed depots

Rajahmundry, Jan 4 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation Employees Union (APSRTCEU) Vice-President N Somarajuhs today said agitation would be continued till the government reopen the depots which are closed in the state.

The employees union staged dharna in front of the Regional Manager's office here in protest against closing down of the depots which were incurring losses.

Speaking on the occasion Mr Somaraju said government wanted to privatise the APSRTC in a phased manner on the dikkat of the world bank conditions.

APSRTCEU Regional Chairman M Satyanarayana said the government wanted to close down the depots in a calculated move to hand over the Corporation to private people.

Employees union activists from nine depots participated in the dharna in large numbers.
