Aashwasan offers healing support to depressed lot

Bangalore, Jan 4 (UNI) Aashwasan Life Enhancement Services here has come out with a healing process to cure depression, ranked as the fourth leading cause for disease and disability in the world and likely to take the second spot by 2020 with over 450 million people currently suffering from mental disorders.

Aashwasan spokesperson told UNI here that Aashwasan offered Aura healing to support people in such conditions.

According to Aashwasan Founder and CEO Rashmi Aiyappa, healing brought a person's elemental patterns into balance, heightened sense of awareness of body and mind and restored emotional and physiological well being. Healing empowered people to get back control on their life and thus better the quality of living. The treatment was divided into three stages and was carried out in a series of sessions, she added.

The Spokesperson explained that depression was neither the same as a passing blue mood, nor was it a sign of personal weakness or a condition that could be willed or wished away. People suffering from depression cannot merely ''pull themselves together'' despite their willingness. The mood swings they go through could drain them out or make them feel helpless and out of control.

Depression and depressive disorders affected the day-to-day functioning of an individual suffering from it and those around him.

If left untreated, it could result in substance abuse, problems relating to friends and family, and even suicide. Sometimes depression could also be caused by undiagnosed medical conditions like epilepsy, cancer, multiple sclerosis and Parkinson's syndrome.

Data generated by the Massive Global Burden of Disease study, conducted by the World Health Organisation, the World Bank and Harvard University, reveal that mental illness, including suicide, accounted for over 15 per cent of the burden of disease in established market economies such as the United States. Though data for countries across the world was not available, it now seemed that depression had emerged an universal human condition affecting the productivity of an individual.
