8 feared drowned as boat capsizes in UP

Lucknow, Jan 4 (UNI) At least eight people were feared killed after their boat capsized in river Yamuna in Chitrakoot district of Uttar Pradesh this morning.

The accident occurred a day after a similar boat tragedy in river Gomti here claimed nine lives.

Police said 13 people were travelling in a boat from village Kopa to neighbouring Kaushambhi district, when the incident took place.

Five of the passengers managed to swim ashore.

Efforts were on to fish out the bodies.
