Shiv Sena-BJP seat-sharing talks in progress

Mumbai, Jan 1: Former Maharashtra chief minister Manohar Joshi today said talks regarding sharing of seats between the Shiv Sena and the BJP for the forthcoming February 1 Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections, were in progress.

He was speaking to mediapersons at his maiden press conference here after his appointment as one of the four spokespersons of the Shiv Sena.

Besides Mr Joshi, the other three spokespersons- Mr Subhash Desai, Mr Sanjay Raut and Ms Nilam Gore were also present at the press conference.

Mr Joshi announced that from now onwards, a press conference would be held on a regular basis every Monday at the Sena Bhavan here.

The four spokespersons also took the opportunity to extend ''happy and prosperous'' new year greetings to all.

No consular access to indians in Pak jail: Pranab

New Delhi, Mar 14:  The government today informed the Lok Sabha that at least 92 Indian civilian prisoners in Pakistani jails have yet not been given consular access."Besides 390 fishermen and 149 civilian prisoners and 74 PoWs are still languishing in Pakistani jails," External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee said in a written reply.The minister was asked whether the government had any reports of inhuman treatment meted out to Indian prisoners in Paksitan.The minsiter said Indian prisoners released by Pakistan had reported.....
