Talking to newspersons here, he said the State should draft development projects and submit to the Centre, as the UPA Government gave due importance to economic development.
Mr Antony assured that depending on the viability of projects, the Centre would grant approval for them.
The State topped the list in creating controversies and this was detrimental to its interests, he added.
He said there were no impediments in the execution of the Vallarpadam project and hoped that it would be completed in time.
On reports of spread of AIDS in the armed force, he said there was no cause for panic and adequate measures were taken to face any eventuality.
