All Himachal police stations to be computerised by year-end

Shimla, Jan 1 (UNI) All the police stations in Himachal Pradesh would be computerised by the end of this year, Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today announced.

Dedicating the web portal of Himachal Pradesh Police Department and Common Integrated Police Application project at the Police Headquarter here.

'' 11 police stations in three out of the 12 districts of the state-- Shimla, Solan and Bilaspur-- have been computerised under the first phase, while 29 police stations would be taken up in second phase and the remaining 60 would be covered by the year end.

Mr Singh said Himachal would be the first state in the country to implement Common Integrated Police Application Project (CIPA).

The Chief Minister informed that nearly 1,400 more police personnel would be added to its strength besides getting sanctioned one more India Reserve Battalion for the state during current calendar year.
