Mumbai, Dec 31 (UNI) Senior BJP leader and former Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Gopinath Munde, who met with an accident at Parali in Beed district yesterday, was operated upon at the Bombay Hospital here today.
The operation was successful and Mr Munde's condition is stable, a press release here said. Mr Munde has been shifted to the Intensive Care Unit for 24 hours for observation.
Mr Munde had fractured his left hand in a road accident at Parali.
The accident occurred when his car collided with a tree. He was on way to his residence in Parali, accompanied by four others.
According to sources, the driver of the vehicle applied the brake while trying to save a child crossing the road.
Mr Munde was on a visit to his hometown since the last five days.
