Chennai, Dec 28: Rebel MDMK leader Gingee N Ramachandran tonight dismissed as ''total lie'', MDMK leader Vaiko's remarks that the rebel leader and his associates were planning to convene a general council with the aid of ruling DMK.

In a statement here, he said MDMK head quarter secretaries Anbu Rajendran and Mohan Raj were actually making arrangements to hold the general council in Salem on January 10 and it would be attended only by the general council members.

He said no other members would be allowed to attend the meeting as alleged by Mr Vaiko.

Both the Central and State government intelligence, officials of the CBI could come during the meeting and check who all had attended the meeting.

''I will prove in the general council that we head the real MDMK and initiate action against Vaiko for failing to lead the party in a successful manner'', he said.
