Addressing the party's 10th foundation day, which also coincides with the notification of the three-tier election of panchayat raj institutions, Mr Patnaik urged the partymen to strive hard to get an absolute majority in the Panchayat elections.

The Chief Minister said his government had announced several packages for the farmers, Scheduled CasteS and Scheduled Tribes and initiated mission ''Shakti'' for the empowerment of women in the state.
