TDP committed to United Andhra Pradesh: Yerran

Hyderabad, Dec 26 (UNI) Telugu Desam Party(TDP) today said that it was committed to unified Andhra Pradesh, as it had always been its stand and had not held a Conclave in the temple town Yadagirigutta in Nalgonda district for re-considering its stand, as reported in a section of the media.

Talking to newspersons here, TDP Parliamentary leader K Yerran Naidu, former minister Kadiyam Srihari and other leaders said the visit by the top leaders of the party to Yadagirigutta was only to redeem a vow to Lord Lakshmi Narasimha made during their padayatras and asserted that it had nothing to do with politics.

Mr Naidu said the party cadre and leadership would work with devotion and commitment to bring the party back to power in the State.

Reports said the TDP was reconsidering its stand on the formation of Telangana state, as the TRS termed the recent by election to the Lok Sabha from Karimnagar constituency as a referendum on Telangana. The TRS supremo K Chandrasekhara Rao, whose resignation caused the by-poll, won it by a thumping majority.

TDP was relegated to third place as Congress could manage to get the second.

Reports said the Yadagirigutta Conclave was an exercise in introspection, in view of the party's debacle in Karimnagar.
