SHOs suspended in Diggy convoy case

Ujjain, MP, Dec 26 (UNI) Taking a serious view of All India Congress Committee General Secretary and former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Digvijay Singh's convoy being halted yesterday while he was en route to a function here, the state government today suspended two station house officers (SHOs).

''Dewas Gate SHO R R Malviya and his Kotwali counterpart B L Swarnkar were suspended for carelessness,'' said Inspector-General (Ujjain Range) Anil Kumar.

New Delhi, Dec 26 (UNI) The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) today put to seal 95 units in Central, Civil Lines and Najafgarh zones. Among the areas where the sealing took place were New Friends Colony in Central zone, Polo road in Civil Lines the area between Rohtak Road and Prem Sukh road in Najafgarh zone, an MCD spokesperson said. NEW YORK, Dec 26 (Reuters) The dollar strengthened against the yen, hitting two-month highs on Tuesday, on weak Japanese inflation and spending data, while the greenback remained flat against other major currencies in holiday-thinned trading.
