Puma India to support Christel House's fundraising golf tournament

New Delhi, Dec 26 (UNI) Puma Sports India Ltd, a subsidiary of Germany-based sport and lifestyle company Puma, today announced its partnership with United States-based Christel House, a non-profit organisation committed to the development of underprivileged children through education.

Under this initiative, Puma India will support three fundraising Christel House Golf Open tournaments in 2007, which are scheduled to be held in Mumbai, Bangalore and New Delhi respectively.

''Christel House and we share a common passion for sports and with Christel House's commitment to realising the needs of underprivileged children, we hope to build greater awareness and generate funds for the cause of Christel House,'' company Managing Director Rajiv Mehta said.

The Christel House Golf Open will roll out its 2007 circuit in Mumbai on March 17, 2007, coninciding with the opening of a new Puma retail outlet.

Christel House runs a school in Bangalore that currently has around 640 children from the slums and villages around the city.

TRS to block national, state highways on Dec 29

Massive programme to provide basic amenities to urban poor

Hyderabad, Dec 26 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Government plans to spend a sum of Rs 5357 crore including Rs 2509 crore of Central funds to provide drinking water, sanitation, health, education and housing for urban poor in all towns in the state. While reviewing the activities of Municipal Administration and Urban Development, Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy said Andhra Pradesh must be put on a rapid development path to provide the urban poor.....

Marina Project to be revived: Minister

Kochi, Dec 26 (UNI) Kerala Tourism Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan today said the Government has taken steps to reivive the stalled Marina Project and has also earmarked Rs 30 crore for various development projects in the city. Speaking to newspersons after a high-level meeting with officials here, Mr Balakrishnan said the project would be executed by the Kerala Tourism Development Corporation (KTDC) without any private participation.
