No respite from sealing, demolition in Masterplan: Harsh Vardhan

New Delhi, Dec 26 (UNI) Denouncing the forthcoming Master Plan 2021 which provided ''no relief to the people of Delhi from sealing and demolition,'' Delhi BJP President Dr Harsh Vardhan today said the Congress was trying to mislead the common man through ''hollow assurances''.

In the Delhi Master Plan 2021, which would be presented before the Board for approval and implementation on December 29, there was no mention about providing relief from sealing and demolition, he claimed.

''It is obvious that sealing and demolition shall continue even in the next year,'' he said, while expressing doubts over the ''utility and practicability'' of the Master Plan 2021, which he said was being implemented six years late.

Besides, said the Delhi BJP chief, as the Government had decided to hand over construction on land in residential and commercial areas to the builder lobby, cost of houses, shops and offices was likely to shoot up manifold.

''The dream of a house for the common man will remain a dream as in this Master Plan, the role of the DDA has been limited to a mere planner.'' Also, the fee prescribed for changing land use by the DDA was so high that people would prefer to close their establishments and remain unemployed instead of paying such exorbitant fee, Mr Harsh Vardhan added.
