K'taka Govt asked to develop historic Nagar Hobli

Bangalore, Dec 26 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata Party leader 'Mukhyamantri' Chandru, MLC, has urged the Karnataka Government to take immediate measures to develop Nagar Hobli, the capital city of the erstwhile princely State of Bidanur in Hosanagar taluk of Shimoga district.

In a letter to Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, he said Nagar Hobli, now in a dilapidated condition, provided glimpses of the past glory of the Bidanur dynasty, which ruled the southern part of Karnataka for over 125 years.

Mr Chandru brought to the notice of the Chief Minister that successive Governments had failed to protect the monumental heritage of the place as no developmental work was witnessed. The Chief Minister should immediately convene a meeting of all the departments concerned and take measures to develop the historic place, he urged.
