IMFA receives "Nirtya Shree" award.

Bhubaneswar, Dec 26(UNI)Indian Metals&Ferro Alloys Limited(IMFA), India's largest producer of ferro alloys, was honoured with the prestigious 'Niryat Shree' award by the Federation of Indian Export Organisations(FIEO) at a glittering function in New Delhi today.

The award recognizes outstanding export performance by erstwhile Indian Charge Chrome Limited(ICCL) which has since merged with IMFA during the year 2004-05.

Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Kamal Nath gave away the awards to IMFA Managing Director Subhrakant Panda.

In a statement, Mr Panda said ''we are truly honoured to have been chosen for this prestigious award and see it as vindication of our corporate philosophy of focusing on value addition''.

IMFA, largest producer&exporter of ferro alloys with 157 MVA installed furnace capacity, is also the only 'fully integrated' producer by virtue of its 108 MW coal-based power plant and captive chrome ore mines.

It had also received the Star Performer Award instituted by the Engineering Export Promotion Council (EEPC)for outstanding export performance.

Darbhanga, Dec 26 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Information Technology Shakeel Ahmad today alleged that the state government had failed to check the cable theft cases resulting in deficiency in services provided by BSNL. After inaugurating a school building here, Ahmad said recent spurt in cable theft cases was an attempt of vested interests to defame BSNL.
