five killed, one injured in a road accident

West Midnapur, Dec 26(UNI) At least five people were killed and one seriously injuried in a road accident today.

Police said the incident took place when the vehicle, in which they were travelling, collided head-on with a lorry near Debra on NH 6.

Five people died on the spot while the injured was rushed to the nearby hospital.

Police said the victims were residents of Howrah. They were returning from Puri after a vacation.

Along with about 100 calves they marched in a procession to condemn the territorial adminstration's failure to provide fodder for the last four months, to announce incentive for milk and a compensation of Rs 6,000 in the event of death of a milch.....

Special Assembly session from tomorrow

Thiruvananthapuram, Dec 26 (UNI) The Kerala Agricultural Debt Relief Commission Bill will be discussed at the three-day special session of Kerala Assembly beginning here tomorrow. Nagpur, Dec 26 (UNI) A Dhaka-Jeddah Haj chartered flight of Saudi Arabia Airlines had to be diverted to Nagpur this morning when a 58-year-old lady passenger collapsed on board after complaining of uneasiness. Landmines recovered in Midnapore

West Midnapore, Dec 26 (UNI) Police today recovered two landmines from different places of the district in West Bengal and recovered incriminating documents that suggested a Maoist hand in it. Police sources said a landmine has been recovered by the Lalgarh police from Jhitka forest in the early hours. Local people informed the police after noticing wires running through the forest. Police forces rushed to the area and bomb disposal squad cordoned off the area......
