Couple shot dead in Bihar

Gaya, Dec 26 (UNI) Unidentified criminals shot dead a businessman and his wife at Kaiyna village under Mufassil police station in the district today.

Police Superintendent A K Jain said criminals opened fire on businessman Ashish Chaudhary and his wife Rasmi Chaudhary when they were on way to their farm house in Kaiyan village from Tekari road under civil lines police station in the same district.

The couple died on the spot, he added.

Raids were on to nab the criminals.

Motive behind the killing was yet to be ascertained.

Six held with 3 kg opium and 310 quintal of poppy husk

Srinagar, Dec 26 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir Vigilance Organisation today registered a case against an Executive Engineer and other officials of the Power Development Department (PDD) for causing a loss of more than Rs 17 lakh to the state exchequer.
