Univercell plan to set up 100 outlets in South by 2007

Chennai, Dec 25 (UNI) Univercell, pioneer in mobile phone retailing, is planning to set up 100 outlets in South India by the end of next year and another 200 across the country by 2009.

Speaking at the launch of its 11th showroom in the city here last evening, Univercell Managing Director Satish Babu said to support the expansion, the company would hire about 2000 people over the next three years.

Local talent would be hired and trained on technical and marketing aspects of mobile phones, he added.

Sugar prices decline on thin buying support

Mumbai, Dec 25 (UNI) Sugar prices declined on thin buying support, traders at the Bombay Sugar Merchants' Association said today. Sugar in small grade eased by Rs five per quintal on lack of fresh demand. Ex-mill sugar small grade fell by Rs 10 per quintal due to increase of stocks supply. Following were the spot wholesale rates per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,562/1,610, Medium grade: Rs 1,612/1,715 Ex-mill: Small grade: Rs 1,545/1,560.....

Metal prices ease

Mumbai, Dec 25 (UNI) Select metal prices today eased due to lack of fresh demand, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange said. In the ferrous category, brass utensils lowered by Rs 100 per quintal on increased offers by stockists. But copper heavy went up by Rs 100 per quintal on good demand. In the non-ferrous segment, zinc slab fell by Rs 100 per quintal on sustained heavy selling, while tin slab shed Rs five per kg......
