Tributes paid to Maharaja Suraj Mal on his martrydom day

Chandigarh, Dec 25 (UNI) Tributes were paid to Maharaja Surajmal here today on the occasion of his martrydom day.

At a function organised on the occasion, Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda described Maharaja Suraj Mal as a brave warrior, seasoned politician, a farsighted man of religious ideology who believed in the welfare of the common man.

Addressing a gathering at the function, organised by Surajmal Samark Shiksha Sansthan, Mr Hooda said that Maharaja Suraj Mal was the saviour of Indian culture and he protected society from various ill effects of the alien culture.

He said that Maharaja Suraj Mal tried his utmost to protect the unity and integrity of the country from the foreign invaders.

Among others who paid their tributes to the late leader were East Delhi MP Sandeep Dixit, Rajasthan Revenue Minister Ram Narain Dudi and Vice President of Surajmal Smarak Shiksha Sanstha, Sube Singh Rana.

Senior journalist and noted writer passed away

Hubli, Dec 25 (UNI) Renowned writer and senior Journalist C H Raghavendra died following massive heart attack here today. He was 59 and is survived by wife, two daughters and a son. According to family sources C H Raghavendra died of massive cardiac arrest. Kalam urged to stop displacement of MP Tribals due to Wildlife Act
