Tourists deprived off enjoying Christmas at Brindavan Gardens

Mysore, Dec 25 (UNI) Thousands of tourists who thronged the world famous Brindavan Gardens at Krishnaraja Sagar reservoir on Christmas here today returned disappointed as the musical fountains failed to enthrall the visitors due to power failure.

The irrigation officials have told UNI the musical fountains, which was the star attraction for the visiting tourists at the Brindavan Gardens could not function due to power failure.

The entire Brindavan Gardens which used to be illuminated with thousands of lights was covered with darkness and the tourists gathered in large numbers returned disappointed as the officials failed to rectify the problem.

40 injured as bus hits tree

Sindhudurg, Maharashtra, Dec 24 (UNI) At least 40 people were injured, some of them seriously, when a passenger bus carrying them hit a roadside tree near Piyalee bridge on Mumbai-Goa Highway today. The accident occurred when the bus driver lost control of the vehicle and hit a road side tree. The bus was proceeding to wards Goa from Tardeo in South Mumbai, police sources said.
