Patil pays floral tributes to Madan Mohan Malviya

New Delhi, Dec 25 (UNI) Home Minister Shivraj Patil today paid floral tributes at the portrait of freedom fighter and social reformer Madan Mohan Malviya on his 145th birth anniversary in the Central Hall of Parliament.

A brochure containing the profile of Madan Mohan Malviya brought out by the Lok Sabha Secretariat was also released on the occasion.

Mr P D T Achary, Secretary-General Lok Sabha, also paid floral tributes at the portrait.

The portrait was unveiled by Dr Rajendra Prasad, the then President, on December 19, 1957.

Lucknow, Dec 25 (UNI) Hitting out at the previous governments at the Centre for being non-serious about the minorities, issues, the former prime minister Vishwanath Pratap Singh today asked Congress and the state governments to give eight per cent reservation to Muslims as per the Mandal Commission recommendations. Mirzapur, Dec 25 (UNI) Railway Minister and RJD supremo Lalu Prasad today offered prayers at the famous shrine of Goddess Vindhyavasini in Mirzapur district of Uttar Pradesh. The Minister stayed for an hour but did not interact with mediapersons. Early today, Mr Prasad along with his wife and former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi, daughter Ragini and son in-law also offered prayers at the world famous Kashi Vishwanath temple in Vasanasi. Digvijay shown black flags

Ujjain, MP, Dec 25 (UNI) Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Digvijay Singh was shown black flags by the members of Kshatriya Mahasabha (KM) while he was on the way to attend a programme organised by the Rajput Samaj.
