JP Group to carry out Taj Expressway project

Agra, Dec 25 (UNI) The Rs 1,200 crore Taj Express Way -- an ambitious project for connecting Greater Noida and Agra with state-of-the-art highway, would be completed in four to six years.

The project, which was under controversy for various reasons, has been cleared and the Jai Prakash (JP) Group would carry out the work.

JP Group Executive Vice President Sushil Joshi here today said the task of setting up the 162 Km Taj Express way was handed over to the JP Group after the investigation commission passed the project.

''The state government would allot land for the project which is self-financing and it would be completed within 4 to 6 years,'' Mr Joshi informed.

He said the five to eight-lane highway would be connected with five Satellite townships to be developed alongside the expressway.

Electric batons to disperse crowd

Morena, MP, Dec 25 (UNI) Police, which uses bamboo canes to disperse unruly mobs, will now wield electric shock batons for the same. Battery-operated batons had been provided to every district headquarter and the instrument would prove effective in controlling mobs, official sources said today. The baton administers an electric shock of 24 volts by contact to a person. The sources said the shock batons would be useful in handling regular road blockades on the Agra.....

New Vidhan Sabha complex dedicated to people at Tapovan

Shimla, Dec 25 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today joined HP assembly Speaker, G R Musafir to dedicate the HP new Vidhan Sabha Complex at Tapovan near Dharamshala in Kangra district to the people of the state. The complex was constructed at a cost of Rs seven crore to hold the winter session of the state Legislative Assembly in Kangra district. It is the only Vidhan Sabha complex outside the state capital,.....
