Jharkhand govt to announce many dev projects on Dec 28:Mahto

Jamshedpur,Dec 25 (UNI)Jharkhand Deputy chief minister Sudhir Mahto today said the Madhu Koda-led UPA government would announce several developmental projects on December 28 as it completes 100 days on that day.

Paying tributes to the slain Jharkhand Mukti Morcha(JMM)president Nirmal Mahto, elder brother of Sudhir, on the occasion of his 56th birth anniversary at Chamaria guest house here, Mr Mahto claimed that it had achieved many things which its predecessor NDA government could not do in its two years time.

He reiterated that the UPA government would complete its tenure and ruled out any threats from its coalition partners.

Senior JMM leader and MP Sunil Mahto said the party was missing the guidance of its incarcerated supremo Shibu Soren. He said Mr Soren was falsely implicated by some ''vested interests'',who wanted to weaken the party in Jharkhand.

''But thier intentions would not be fulfilled and Guruji would come out clean,''Mr Mahto asserted.

Besides, Sudhir and Sunil Mahto, party vice-president Champai Soren, MLA ,Congress leader Ramashray Prasad Singh and other hosts of JMM leaders garlanded the statue of the departed leader.

Jharkhand chief minister Madhu Koda and many of his cabinet colleagues, union minister Subodh Kant Sahay would also attend meeting on this occasion here this evening.

Mizoram ruling party accuses opposition of misinterpreting judgement

Aizawl, Dec 25 (UNI) The ruling Mizo National Front (MNF) has accused the congress led opposition of misinterpreting the judgement of defamation, which had acquitted Congress MLA R Lalzirliana. MNF statement here today said, ''The judgement never mentioned that MNF government had paid ransom money to insurgents, it only said MLA Lalzirliana's statement was an exception for defamation.'' The MNF government had filed a complaint against Lalzirliana at the court of additional district magistrate.....

Patil pays floral tributes to Madan Mohan Malviya

New Delhi, Dec 25 (UNI) Home Minister Shivraj Patil today paid floral tributes at the portrait of freedom fighter and social reformer Madan Mohan Malviya on his 145th birth anniversary in the Central Hall of Parliament.
