Improvement of wildlife habitat in Kashmir imperative: PDP

Srinagar, Dec 25 (UNI) The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), a ruling coalition partner in Jammu and Kashmir, today called for effective measures to check attacks of wild animals on people.

In a statement here, a PDP spokesman expressed shock over the increase in attacks of wild animals on the people in Kashmir.

Several people have been wounded in these attacks in Sopore, Baramulla and some parts of south Kashmir during the last fortnight.

The spokesman called for effective steps in providing proper habitat to wild animals so that they do not come down to villages.

He suggested that the field staff of the wildlife department need to be geared up to develop proper habitat for wild animals at their sanctuaries and devise comprehensive policies for the preservation of the wildlife.

New Vidhan Sabha complex dedicated to people at Tapovan

Shimla, Dec 25 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today joined HP assembly Speaker, G R Musafir to dedicate the HP new Vidhan Sabha Complex at Tapovan near Dharamshala in Kangra district to the people of the state. Twenty injured in road accident

Ratlam, MP, Dec 25 (UNI) Twenty people were injured, six of them seriously, when a brick-laden tractor trolley overturned near Mandali ghat in this district, police said today. The tractor trolley was heading to market on December 23 when the incident occurred. On receiving information, police reached the spot. The injured were admitted to Rawti healthcare centre from where six seriously injured were sent to Ratlam. Other injured were discharged after primary treatment. UNI.....

Several wounded in road accidents in Kashmir

Srinagar, Dec 25 (UNI) Several people were wounded in separate road accidents across the Kashmir valley today, police said. Two vehicles collided head on near here in which five people, including a family of four members, were wounded. The injured have been identified as Mushtaq Ahmad Chulu, Prem Sagar, his wife and their two children. They have been shifted to a hospital here, police added.
