Goa bundled out for 223 runs

Indore, Dec 25 (UNI) Disciplined bowling by Sanjay Pandey helped Madhya Pradesh bundle out Goa for 223 on the opening day of the Ranji Trophy plate group A match at the Usha Raje cricket ground here today.

In reply, the hosts were at 28 runs for one wicket at close.

Amit Paul and Mohnish Mishra were both batting on 9 when stumps were drawn.

The only batsman out was Mudassar Pasha, who was scalped by R Disuza at 9.

Earlier, Goa failed to put up a big total after being invited to bat by the hosts.

Openers Sagun Kamat and captain S Asnodkar added 48 runs which was the highest partnership of the innings.

Kamat scored 50 runs while Asnodkar was out for 17.

Sanjay Pande scalped six wickets for 47, while two were claimed by Abbas Ali and one each by T Sudhindra and Anand Rajan.
