General council of MDMK on Jan 10: Vaiko

Chennai, Dec 25 (UNI) The General Council of the Marumalarchi DMK will be held here on January 10 to discuss the present political situation in the state and other unexpected crisis in the party following the removal of MPs L Gansean and Gingee Ramachandran from the party posts, MDMK General Secretary Vaiko said today.

Talking to newspersons here, he said the district committee meetings of the party would be held at all the districts in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry on December 28 and the zonal conference at Coimbatore on February one.

Asked about the proposed general body meeting convened by the rebel leaders L Ganesan and Gingee N Ramachandran at Salem on December 29, he quipped ''they convened a meeting and I do not want to comment on it.'' MORE UNI RV AJ SI HS2019

Rebel MDMK leaders did not attend meeting to avoid violence

Chennai, Dec 25 (UNI) Marumalarchi DMK rebel leader Ginjee Ramachandran said L Ganesan and himself had not attended today's meeting convened by Mr Vaiko, as they did not want to give room for violence.
