Four killed, seven injured in accident

Beed, Maharashtra, Dec 25 (UNI) Four labourers from Rajashtan were killed and seven others injured in an accident involving three vehicles near Padalsingi village about 20 km from here this morning.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) Vikram Jhoble, a speeding truck collided with two trucks standing on the road.

The incident occurred when the labourers were busy unloading cottonseed from one truck to another, since their vehicle had met with an accident earlier.

Another truck coming from behind collided with the stationary trucks when the labourers were busy unloading cottonseed, the police said.

At least four labourers, engaged in the work at the accident site, were killed on the spot while seven others seriously injured.

All the labourers were from Rajasthan and were on way to Hyderabad. They were, earlier, travelling by the stationary truck, which had met with an accident.

The injured have been admitted to the District Civil Hospital, the sources said.

Barrackpore, Dec 25 (UNI) At least one person was killed and nine others were injured in two separate road accidents here today in North 24 Parganas this afternoon, police said. While one person was killed on the spot after being struck by a bus, seven others, including a boy, were injured at the B T Road near Titagarh police station. ULFA's 'lance corporal' surrenders

Guwahati, Dec 25 (UNI) A 'lance corporal' of the ULFA's main strike wing surrendered before the Army at Maibella in Sibsagar district of Upper Asom today.
