ASI's son shot dead in Haryana

Ambala, Dec 25 (UNI) A Haryana police Assistant Sub Inspector's (ASI) son was shot dead by a lone car borne unidentified person at the HUDA in the city today.

The deceased identified as Saranjit Singh was the son of Santokh Singh, posted at Police Station Maheshnagar, Ambala Cantonment.

According to the police, the deceased alongwith with two of his friends was going on a motorcycle to distribute invitation cards of his sister's marriage.

When they reached the Sector 9/10 intersection in the HUDA colony, a person driving a car suddenly fired several shots with his revolver injuring Saranjit seriously. However, his two friends on the pillion escaped unhurt.

Saranjit was rushed to the Civil Hospital where he was declared dead. Saranjit, has a criminal record.

The police has registered a case and launched a hunt to apprehend the alleged assaliant.

Two killed, 1 hurt in mishap near Buldhana

Nagpur, Dec 24 (UNI) Two persons were killed and another injured seriously after the motorcycle they were riding on was hit by an oncoming van near Deulgaon Mahi in Buldhana district of Maharashtra today.
