Woman killed, 17 wounded in separate accidents in Kashmir

Srinagar, Dec 24 (UNI) A woman was killed and 17 passengers wounded in two separate road accidents in Kashmir today, police said.

They said a load carrier hit and wounded a woman, Raja, a resident of Pehroo in Anantnag district, at Kangi Gund on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway.

The woman was rushed to a hospital where she succumbed to wounds.

A case has been registered in this regard.

In another accident, at least 17 people were wounded at Khawaja Bagh in Baramulla district.

Police said a Tata-407 passenger bus, on its way to Sopore from Baramulla, turned turtle at Khawaja Bagh when the driver lost control of the vehicle.

At least 17 passengers were wounded in the accident. They were shifted to a hospital where the condition of some of them was stated to be critical. Out of the wounded, seven were later referred to the Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS), Soura here.

YSR call to people on assigned lands

YSR lays foundation stone for 'Eco Park'

Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh, Dec 24 (UNI) Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today laid foundation stone for ''Eco Park' being established at a cost of Rs eight crore in Idupulapaya Village. The park would have botanical gardens and bird sanctuary. Later, the Chief Minister inagurated Haritha Resorts constructed by the State Tourism Department at Gandi Kshetram and offered worship to Hanuman at a temple.
