Teacher training institute case given to CB-CID

Chennai, Dec 24 (UNI) The case pertaining to 'illegal admission' of students in a private teacher training institute in Villupuram District of Tamil Nadu has been transfered to Crime Branch CID for further investigation.

A police press release here today said a couple was arrested for admitting students 'illegally' in their teacher training institute at Kandamanadi Village on Monday last.

Rayar and his wife Jaya Rayar started a institute and admitted 75 students from different parts of the state in an illegal manner.

Based on complaints from affected students, they were arrested and later remanded in judicial custody.

Since students from different districts were involved in the episode, the case had been transfered to CB-CID from the local police, it added.

4,000 litres of spirit seized

Doctor abducted by miscreants

Koderma, Dec 25 (UNI) Unidentified miscreants last evening kidnapped a doctor, along with his driver from Jainagar-Koderma road, when he was on his way to the hospital in the district of Jharkhand, police sources today said. Sources said the incident occurred when Dr Sudeep, posted at the Sadar hospital was returning from a private clinic at Jainagar, about 15 kilometres away from the headquaters. Police had registered the case and were trying to nab the culprits......
