SJM urges Centre to reduce interest rate on bank loans

Hyderabad, Dec 24 (UNI) Swadeshi Jagaran Manch (SJM) National Convenor P Muralidhar Rao today demanded that the Centre should reduce interest rates on bank loans to small and medium retail businessmen as they face tough competition from the Multi National Companies (MNCs), which were entering into retail market in the country.

Talking to newspersons here, Mr Rao said the banks, providing low interest loans to the MNCs, had been denying loans on low interest rates to small retail business persons.

He said this tendency would affect the livelihoods of several families, who were into retail business.

Scheme to be named after Rajiv Gandhi: CM

Puducherry, Dec 24 (UNI) The scheme, which will provide unemployment allowance to educated unemployed youths in the Union Territory, will be named after Rajiv Gandhi, Chief Minister N Rangasamy said today. Participating in the National Consumer Day function at Madagadippattu near here, the Chief Minister said the administration would make Puducherry a hut free state in another five years by converting all houses into pucca houses. TDB, Ecosmart to discuss Sabarimala master plan: Minister

Pathanamthitta, Dec 24 (UNI) Kerala Devaswom Minister G Sudhakaran today said Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) and Ecosmart will enter into a discussion soon on the pros and cons of the Sabarimala Master Plan to iron-out differences of opinion amicably.
