Punjab Khadi Board to disburse Rs 10 crore subsidy

Fatehgarh Sahib, Dec 24 (UNI) The Punjab Khadi and Village Industries Board will disburse an amount of Rs 10 crore as margin money subsidy by the end of the current financial year.

Talking to mediapersons here today, the Board Chairman, Charanjit Singh Walia said that employment for 16,571 rural unemployed would be generated through this subsidy. He informed that pending subsidy claims upto the year 2004-05 had also been cleared after the joint inspection of units.

He said that to motivate the rural unemployed and prospective entrepreneurs to set up village industries, block level awareness camps were being held. He said that till now more than 100 such camps had been organised in various blocks of the state.

Mr Walia said in order to help the beneficiaries, who have set up village industry units through the Khadi Board, in marketing their products, the Board in association with Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) was holding an exhibition of the products manufactured by the units.

Pawar urges sugar industry to step up exports

UPA govt to change power policy to boost hydro power generation
