Powerful bomb seized from Adivasi youths in Asom

Kokrajhar, Dec 24 (UNI) A powerful bomb was recovered from two Adivasi youths from Telipara area under Gossaigaon police station in this district of Asom today.

Army sources informed that the seizure was made during a routine checking at about 1740 hours.

The bomb was found in a shopping bag the boys were carrying.

The boys were suspected to be only the carriers of the bomb, which weighted two-and-a-half-kg, meant for delivery to some one else.

Interrogation was on and the Army launched massive operation to nab those for whom the bomb was to be delivered.

The ISI, which had been active in this part of the state along the inter-state border with West Bengal, was involved in the case.

Chilly Christmas eve in Delhi as mercury plummets to 6.1 Deg C

New Delhi, Dec 24 (UNI) It was a chilly Christmas eve for Delhiites as the mercury in the capital plummeted to the season's lowest of 6.1 Degree Celsius, thus putting a dampener on the partying and the festival revelry. The drop in minimum temperature to 6.1 degrees C, two degrees below normal, from 8.2 degree C yesterday brought about a severe chill in the air. This is the lowest temperature recorded in Delhi this winter.....

India studying implications of UNSC sanctions on Iran

New Delhi, Dec 24 (UNI) India today said it was ''studying'' the implications of the UN Security Council (UNSC) sanctions against Iran and asserted that all possible efforts should be made to address the issue through peaceful dialogue and negotiations. A statement issued by the External Affairs Ministry said the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) should play a central role in resolving the outstanding issues. Maintaining that Iran had the right to pursue.....
