NEC takes up training programme for youths

Aizawl, Dec 24 (UNI) The North Eastern Council (NEC) has sponsored 2,653 people from eight North Eastern states for training at the Institute of Tourism and Future Management Trend (ITFT), Chandigarh.

NEC officials here today said that the short-term training course would include B.Sc in Airlines and Tourism Management, M.Sc in Service Industry Management and Airlines, Tourism and Hospitality Management and Service Industry Management.

NEC has also provided financial support to students from NE for higher professional courses, officials said adding that more than 4,575 students have been provided financial support under this programme upto 2005-06.

Compact Disc to buy London-based Mobsoft

New Delhi, Dec 24 (UNI) Compact Disc India Ltd has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to acquire 70 per cent stake in London-based Mobile Software Ltd (Mobsoft). The company will disclose the financial details of the transaction later in the national capital, a statement issued has said. Mobsoft has so far produced mobile games for Burger King, Coca Cola, British Police and others. It has its main office in London and a development.....

ORG Informatics to acquire Indian and overseas cos worth $20mln

New Delhi, Dec 24 (UNI) ORG Informatics Ltd, service provider in remote sensing, photogrammetry and software development, has said it is in the process of finalising various acquisition proposals in India and abroad worth 20 million dollars. The Board of Directors have authorised Mr Ajoy K Khandheria, Managing Director and Chief Eexcutive Officer (CEO), to negotiate and finalise the acquisitions, against consideration of up to 20 million dollars in cash and or cash equivalents......

Raj TV to enter Malaysia, Singapore by March '07

New Delhi, Dec 24 (UNI) Chennai-based Raj Television Network Ltd (RTNL) has said it will foray into the unexplored markets of Malaysia and Singapore by offering dubbed and sub-titled content through direct-to-home (DTH) by March-end 2007. ''All formalities to enter into foreign markets are in the final stages and are expected to be over by March next year,'' RTNL Senior Vice President B Sathya Prakash told UNI here.
