Meghalaya govt makes bureaucratic reshuffle

Shillong, Dec 24 (UNI) The Meghalaya government has made a major reshuffle of Deputy Commissioners throughout the state late last night.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) East Khasi Hills district Pankaj Jain has been appointed as Governance Advisor DFID, New Delhi while his post would be filled up by Ri-Bhoi district DC B Dhar. Revenue Secretary S F Khongwir would be the new DC of Ri-Bhoi district.

Director Community and Rural Development M H K Marak would be the new DC of South Garo Hills district and the DC of East Garo Hills district F Kharlyngdoh would take charge as the DC of West Khasi Hills district in place of K L Tariang, who has been appointed as Additional Secretary, Agriculture Department.

M K Synrem, Additional District Magistrate, Mairang would take charge as East Garo Hills district DC.

However, no change has been effected to the DCs of West Garo Hills and Jaintia Hills districts.

Meanwhile, Additional Secretary, Education Ms L R Sangma has been appointed as Director, Community and Rural Development and Renilla D Marak will assume charge as Director, Education Research and Training.

H M Shangpliang and Donald P Wahlang have been appointed as MD of MCCL and Secretary, Information Technology respectively.

ORG Informatics to acquire Indian and overseas cos worth $20mln

Raj TV to enter Malaysia, Singapore by March '07

New Delhi, Dec 24 (UNI) Chennai-based Raj Television Network Ltd (RTNL) has said it will foray into the unexplored markets of Malaysia and Singapore by offering dubbed and sub-titled content through direct-to-home (DTH) by March-end 2007. Panasonic aims 30% jump in sales next fiscal at Rs 143cr

New Delhi, Dec 24 (UNI) Panasonic Asia Pacific Pte Ltd, the 100 per cent subsidiary of Japan-based Panasonic, aims to garner sales of Rs 143 crore in fiscal 2007-2008 from Rs 110 crore during the current fiscal, representing a growth of 30 per cent. ''Last year, the company registered 23 per cent sales growth, and we expect it to grow further by 30 per cent in the next financial year to Rs 143 crore,''.....
