IGNOU officials asked to suggest improvement in their personality

New Delhi, Dec 24 (UNI) The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has asked its officials to give suggestions for a programme aimed at development of their personality and upgradation of their knowledge.

''Every officer of the university must grow along with the institution,' Vice- Chacellor Prof V N Rajasekharan Pillai told them.

He said he would soon hold a brainstorming session to discuss the programme along with their proposals and suggestions.

The Board of Management of IGNOU has approved the scheme for the benefit of employees so that they can contribute the maximum as per their abilities.

''Around 10 per cent of the total strength of iGNOU must be on the move every year,'' the Vice Chancellor said.

One cop killed, 2 injured in road accident

Ghazipur, Dec 24 (UNI) One police personnel was killed and two others were severely injured in a road accident in Ghazipur district late last night, police today said. The mishap occurred under Mohammadabad police station area, where a speeding vehicle rammed into the Shahninda police chowki. Constable Mohd Hafeez (30) died on the spot, while constables Prabhunath Yadav and Shyam Narayan Giri sustained critical injuries. The injured were rushed to hospital. A case was registered and.....

Four laning of three NHs in progress in Punjab

Hoshiarpur, Dec 24 (UNI) The task of four-laning the Jalandhar to Pathankot, Chandigarh-Zirakpur and Jalandhar-Amritsar had begun under the supervision of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), Mr Ashok Kumar Sud, Chief Engineer, National Highways in Punjab disclosed here today. The four-laning of the 35-km Amritsar-Wagah stretch as announced by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh during his visit to Amritsar would begin soon after the land for this purpose is acquired, he said while talking.....
