Haryana sportspersons to be given 'desi ghee'

Chandigarh, Dec 24 (UNI) The winners and runners-up in various events at the Haryana State Level Rural games will take home with them 'desi ghee'.

The winners will get 10 kg 'desi ghee' while the runners up in each event will get 5 kg. In the team events, each member of the winning and runners up team will be given 'desi ghee'.

The state Rural Games are to be held in the month of February at Sonepat, Chief Parliamentary Secretary, Dharabmir Singh disclosed today.

He emphasised that sportspersons should be given adequate incentives so that the youth of the state are attracted towards sports. He said that besides other prizes the winners and runners up would be given 'desi ghee'.

Sepak Takraw junior nationals commence at Chandigarh

Chandigarh, Dec 24 (UNI) The 10th edition of the Junior National Sepak Takraw Championships (boys and girls) commenced with an exhibition match between holders Manipur and Nagaland at the Mount Carmel School premises here today. Chairman and Managing Director of Punjab Police Housing Corporation and Additional Director General of Police, Anil Kaushik inaugurated the championship.
