CRPF driver ends life in Kashmir

Srinagar, Dec 24 (UNI) A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) driver committed suicide in Kashmir today, police said.

CRPF driver head constable Ravinder Singh shot himself dead with his service carbine at the company headquarters of 122 battalion at Bemina near here, police added.

Police have registered a case in this regard.

This is one more incident of suicide by security personnel posted in Jammu and Kashmir in the recent past.

The defence authorities have introduced a 24-hour help-line and Yoga classes besides several other measures to help the soldiers overcome the problems related to stress and their family and thus prevent them from taking the extreme step.

Police rescue three girls, arrest three

Vijayawada, Dec 24 (UNI) The city police today arrested three persons and rescued three girls, who were brought for flesh trade promising jobs. Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) L Vijaya Kumar told newspersons here that the trio D Govindamma, Vijaya Lakshmi and Shaik Rafi had lured the girls by promising them jobs and better life in Chennai. Teacher training institute case given to CB-CID

Chennai, Dec 24 (UNI) The case pertaining to 'illegal admission' of students in a private teacher training institute in Villupuram District of Tamil Nadu has been transfered to Crime Branch CID for further investigation. A police press release here today said a couple was arrested for admitting students 'illegally' in their teacher training institute at Kandamanadi Village on Monday last.
