Silver Reunion of IIT Madras alumni Dec 27

Chennai, Dec 21: About 200 alumni of IIT Madras and their family members living abroad have confirmed their participation in the 'Silver Reunion' of the 1981 graduating batch to be held here during December 27-29.

Mr Mohanraj Pandian, Coordinator, Organising Committee of IIT Madras Alumni Association, in a statement here, said about 350 alumni and their family members living in the country have also registered to join the nostalgic occasion organised at the IIT campus.

Some of the alumni are residing in countries like the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Thailand, he said adding the association had lined up several events, both on and off the campus, as part of the Silver Reunion.

The Association had so far raised a sum of Rs 1.27 crore for taking up various institute-related and societal initiatives. The fund would be utilised for setting up Internet kiosks in rural areas and for other rural uplift programmes, Mr Pandian said.

IIT Madras Alumni from the 1981 graduating class could register for the Silver Reunion by visiting the www.iitmaa.org or by calling Association office at 044-22578391, he said.
