Two Dawood aides deported from Dubai

Mumbai, Dec 18: Two aides of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, who were deported from Dubai last month, were today booked under the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) in connection with an extortion case.

MCOCA Judge M R Bhatkar granted police custody till December 28 to Shakeel Ahmed Sheikh Khota Shakeel (36) and Sayyed Zaki Mehandi Vikram (39).

The prosecution said the duo was wanted in an extortion case amounting to Rs 25 lakh involving a South Mumbai-based crockery merchant during 2001.

Earlier two persons - Mohd Abdul Gani Shaikh and Navshad Mir Sayad - were arrested under IPC in this case and both of them were granted bail.

Internet TV, radio to be launched next month

Mangalore, Dec 18 (UNI) The city-based Daijiworld.com, an internet media service provider, is contemplating to launch the first internet TV channel 'TV Daijiworld' and internet radio station 'Radio Daijiworld' in the first week of January next.
