Nitish should resign on moral ground: Congress

Patna, Dec 18: The Bihar Congress today demanded resignation of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar following the Patna High Court order quashing the allotment of land to noted film producer Prakash Jha in different districts of state for building shopping malls and multiplexes.

Talking to reporters here, Pradesh Congress Committee spokesman Prem Chandra Mishra said the observation of the High Court that land were allotted to Prakash Jha in violation of rules and regulations was a big setback for the government.

The Chief Minister should resign taking moral responsibility for violation of rules and regulations in allotment of plots of land to Mr Jha, ''he demanded, adding that those who hold high government posts, should work according to rules and regulations.

Mr Mishra had filed a public interest litigation petition challenging the allotment of land to Mr Jha in the High court on the ground that rules were violated in this connection.

UDF to launch agitation against Left Front Govt. in Kerala

Kochi, Dec 18 (UNI) Castigating the Left Democratic Front in Kerala for allegedly providing a lacklusture and unresponsive government, the opposition United Democratic Front (UDF) today announced the launch of an agitation against its ''misrule''. UDF expresses disinterest in NCP

Kochi, Dec 18 (UNI) Indicating UDF's disinterest in the NCP joining the opposition front in Kerala, UDF Convenor P P Thankachan today said there was no discussion on the issue at today's meeting of the UDF.
