Thirteen killed, two injured in TN road accident

Kancheepuram (Tamil Nadu), Dec 15: Thirteen people, including 11 from a family, were killed on the spot and two seriously injured in a ghastly accidint when the Qualis car in which they were travelling collided with a lorry near Kovalam checkpost on the East Coast Road (ECR) today.

Police said the mishap occurred when thirteen members of a family were proceeding to Rameswaram from Chennai airport after seeing off their relatives.

The deceased included the lorry owner Pachaiappan and his associate.

The identity of the eleven deceased family members were not yetknown.

The injured were admitted to Chengalpattu Government Hospital.

Traffic on the ECR road was affected following the incident.

Cyprus, Netherlands, France block EU move on Turkey
