2 unidentified naxals killed in encounter in Andhra

Warangal (Andhra Pradesh), Dec 15: Two unidentified naxals including a woman were killed in an encounter with the police here early this morning.

Police said the incident took place when the combing police team, who were conducting a routine check between Passar and Maddulagudem villages about 80 km from here, tried to stop a woman and a man on a two-wheeler.

On seeing the police, the duo opened fire at them.

In retaliation, the police opened fire killing them on the spot.

The police has recovered weapons and naxalite literature from them.

However their identities and affiliation were not yet ascertained, they added.
