BJP to launch nationwide agitation against UPA

New Delhi, Dec 13: The BJP is preparing to launch a nationwide agitation to expose the UPA government's 'soft and wrong policies' on prices, terrorism and Muslim appeasement.

The matter will be discussed in detail in the party's coming National Executive and National Council meeting at Lucknow on December 22, 23 and 24 where the party leadership would draw up the outline for the nationwide movement.

BJP Parliamentary Party Spokesman Vijay Kumar Malhotra said there was a need to highlight the wrong policies in handling terrorism and Muslim appeasement as a bait for poaching the Muslim votes. Such unhealthy attitude would not only hurt the national interest but the Muslims themselves in the long run. The party would move a resolution highlighting the failures of the UPA government, he said.

He said the delay in implementing the death sentence to Mohammad Afzal, one of those convicted by the Supreme Court for the December 13, 2001 Parliament attack, had forced the families of victims to return the gallantary awards to the Government. They took part in morning's programme to salute the victims of attack in the precincts of Parliament and returned the medals later, Mr Malhotra said.
