Ayodhya attack case: Hearing posted to Dec 19

Faizabad, Dec 11: The five terrorists arrested in connection with the attack on the Ram Janmabhoomi complex here on July 5, last year would now appear in the court on December 19.

The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court had transferred the sensitive case to the Allahabad High Court on December 8 but owing to certain technicalities, the accused would appear in the Faizabad District and Sesions Court on the fixed date.

All the accused appeared before the court under tight security today.

Public Prosecutor O P Sinha said the hearing was posted to a later date as 'Nyaymitra' Rajendra Kumar Tiwari refused to take up the case alleging he was not provided with adequate security.

Terrorists Naeem Ahmed, Asif Iqbal, Shakil Ahmed and Mohd Aziz were arrested in Jammu and Kashmir on July 14 and July 27 last year for providing arms and SIM cards to the five terrorists, who stormed the Ram Janmabhoomi complex. The fidayeens were, however, gunned down by the security forces.

On July 22, Dr Irfan-- a native of Saharanpur district of Uttar Pradesh -- was also nabbed for assisting the four accused arrested from the Valley.
