Kumaraswamy cautions corporates against neglecting local talent

Bangalore, Nov 23 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy today cautioned industrialists from the State that if local talent was continuously neglected in employment opportunities, it would snowball into a major social problem in the future.

''An aura of feeling of being neglected has been generated among the locals and that may develop into a major problem in the future,'' he said, addressing industrialists on the occasion of launching 'Suvarna Kayaka' scheme to enhance employment opportunities for one lakh educated youth.

Mr Kumaraswamy said the industries, which saw Karnataka as their investment destination, had the moral responsibility and duty to accommodate local talents. The State Government was providing all kind of cooperation to the industries and new entrants, he added.

He said the Union Government had sanctioned 36 Special Economic Zones for Karnataka and the State Government had been pro-active in developing it. The State Government had also sent several proposals to the Centre for the construction of elevated highways, besides speeding up ongoing infrastructure projects. ''Thanks to focussed attention given to complete various flyovers, link roads and causeways, the citizens of Bangalore are already experiencing ease from traffic congestion to some extent and we have to go a long way in this direction.''
