Chitradurga records lowest temperature

Bangalore, Nov 23: Following is a summary of observations recorded by the weather office at 0830 hours here today.

Rainfall occurred at isolated places over Coastal Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka. Dry weather prevailed over North Interior Karnataka Chief rainfall amounts (cm): Panambur 4; Bhagamandala 2; Mangalore, Mangalore AP 1 each.

Minimum temperatures were rose at many places being appreciably so at a few places over North Interior Karnataka, however fell at a few places over South Interior Karnataka and changed little over Coastal Karnataka. They were above normal at most places over North Interior Karnataka and at many places over Coastal Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka.

Chitradurga recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 17.0 degree Celsius over the State.

Forecast valid until Saturday morning: Mainly dry weather may prevail over the State.

Farmers Weather Bulletin: Mainly dry weather may prevail over all districts of the State.

Forecast for Bangalore: Mainly clear sky. Minimum temperature would be around 18 degree Celsius.

Tainted cops remanded in police custody

Mumbai, Nov 23 (UNI) Two police officers, arrested yesterday by the anti corruption bureau sleuths while allegedly accepting a bribe, have been remanded in police custody till November 27. ACB today produced inspector Prasant Yaswant Pandit of N M Joshi Marg Police station and sub inspector Jagdish Babugiri before ACB judge P N Deshmukh who remanded them in police custody till November 27. On a tip off, the ACB sleuths had allegedly caught the duo.....

600 litres of liquor seized from village

Jamnagar, Nov 23 (UNI) Police today raided an illicit liquor manufacturing centre in Ranpar village of Bhanvad taluka, 80 km from here, and seized 600 litres of country liquor nad large quantities of raw materials. Six persons were arrested in this connection Jamnagar police's special operations group (SOG) and the Bhanwad police jointly raided the border village. Those arrested were Latha Rama Rabari (Ranpar), Bhikha Gogan Makwana (from neighbouring Morpar village), Rama Lakshman.....

Bomb hoax at Surat IT office

Surat, Nov 23 (UNI) A bomb hoax created panic at the Income Tax office here today. The Income Tax office received an anonymous call this afternoon with the caller claiming that a bomb had been planted in the premises. A bomb detection squad, assisted by a dog squad, thoroughly searched the permises but no suspicious objects were found.
