Bajrang Dal demands investigation into Komu Souharda Vedike

Mangalore, Nov 23 (UNI) Bajrang Dal Karnataka State Convenor Mahendra Kumar today demanded the State government to investigate into the activities of Komu Souharda Vedike alleging that the Pakistan based ISI and banned SIMI organisation are operating under Vedike shelter.

Talking to newsmen here, Mr Kumar also alleged that the extremists from North India, under Vedike, are getting ration cards in their name and they have been enrolled in the voters list. The state government should also investigate into the activities of Madrasas which have become shelters to the extremists, he demanded.

Mr Kumar warned that statewide agitation would be launched if the government adopts Anti-Hindu policy and disrupts the two-day Datta jayanthi celebrations at Bababudanagiri in Chikmagalur district from December Two.

Alleging that Home Minister M P Prakash had taken Anti-Hindu stand, he said that compensations were not given to the victims of Hindu community in the recent communal violence in Mangalore, while Muslims were given adequate compensations through State Minority Commission.

RO for Chamundeswari bypoll replaced

Mysore, Nov 23 (UNI) In a sudden development, Returning Officer for the Chamundeswari Assembly constituency byelection Chikkatammaiah has been replaced by the Election Commission with immediate effect. District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner S Selva Kumar said they have received a communication that Mr Chikkatammaiah would be replaced by Mysore Urban Development Authority Secretary C M Rajendra. Petition to recover dues from KPCC

Kochi, Nov 23 (UNI) A writ petition was filed by PWD contractors S Janardhanan and S Kumar before the Kerala High Court today seeking a direction to the State Government to recover the amount due from the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) to the petitioners. According to the petitioners, they were directed to erect barricades as part of providing security during the visit of Congress President Sonia Gandhi to the State for election campaign.....

Tainted cops remanded in police custody

Mumbai, Nov 23 (UNI) Two police officers, arrested yesterday by the anti corruption bureau sleuths while allegedly accepting a bribe, have been remanded in police custody till November 27. ACB today produced inspector Prasant Yaswant Pandit of N M Joshi Marg Police station and sub inspector Jagdish Babugiri before ACB judge P N Deshmukh who remanded them in police custody till November 27. On a tip off, the ACB sleuths had allegedly caught the duo.....
