Akola, Nov 18: The manager-inspector duo of a public sector unit have been arrested by sleuths of the anti-corruption bureau (ACB) after being caught red-handed while allegedly accepting a bribe, at Washim.
According to ACB officials, one Mr Namdeo Narayan Dhoble (20) had approached them with a complaint, alleging that the district manager of Maharashtra State Other Backward Class Finance and Development Corporation, Mr S B Dhone and the recovery inspector of the corporation, Mr Rajkumar Kawde had demanded a bribe of Rs 5000 from him to release a cheque of Rs one lakh ninety thousand, which was due to him. The corporation had earlier granted him a loan of the said amount.
Accordingly, a trap was laid and the accused were caught red-handed while accepting Rs 2000, as an advance yesterday.
ACB DSP Mr Vinod Ingole told sources that the accused were booked under sections 7 13 (1) (d) with 13 (2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
